Ranco provides a broad offering of electro-mechanical and electronic temperature controls that are designed to switch electrical loads such as contactors, relays, fans, and motors in HVAC and Commercial applications in response to changes in sensed temperature.

APPLICATIONS

  • Room Air Conditioners (cool-only or heat/cool units).
  • Packaged terminal air conditioners (PTAC) and heat pumps (PTHP).
  • Heat Pumps and unitary air conditioners - outdoor ambient sensed for enabling auxiliary heaters and compressors lockout.
  • Ice Machines.
  • Reach-In Refrigerator/Freezers.
  • Walk-In Refrigerator/Freezers.
  • Beverage Coolers.
  • Condensing Units.
  • Display Cases.
  • Commercial Cooking Equipment.

C12/C17 Controls

A22/A30 Controls
  • Fixed or adjustable temperature settings.
  • Laser welded stainless steel sensing elements.
  • Narrower differentials attainable.
  • C12 can be used for cool only units or heat/cool units when used with a separate changeover switch.
  • C17 has two SPDT electrically isolated switches, calibrated at different set points and differentials. By using various wiring schemes, the C17 can provide a variety of control functions such as ON/OFF control, and manual or automatic changeover between compressors and strip heaters, or shifting of reversing valve for heat pumps.
  • Fixed or adjustable temperature settings.
  • Laser welded stainless steel sensing elements.
  • Constant ON or OFF positions available.
  • A wide variety of mounting brackets, adjustment ranges, and shaft styles available.
  • Standard 1/4" quick-connect terminals with optional screw terminals.
  • A22 can be used as a heat/cool thermostat by using a separate changeover switch.

G1/G4 Controls

O Controls
  • Wide variety of temperature ranges and differentials for commercial heating applications.
  • Available in both SPST and DPST switch configurations.
  • Maximum adjustment accuracy with 7 revolution range adjustment screws.
  • NEMA 1 enclosure with non-conductive cover.
  • Front-located captive cover screw.
  • Universal Mounting and compact design.
  • Laser-welded bellows for extended life.
  • Constant cut-in setting.

ELECTRONICS

ETC Controls

  • Wide temperature range (-30 F to 220 F).
  • Adjustable differential range (1 F to 30 F).
  • LCD Digital Display.
    • Temperature at the sensor.
    • Control settings.
    • Relay status.
    • Onboard diagnostics.

1 A capillary only bellows senses from the coldest exposure point, including the bellows head.
A capillary with bulb bellows senses from the bulb, regardless of colder/warmer exposure points. The bulb portion of the A22/A30 capillary with bulb must be mounted with tip end pointing upward within 65° of vertical. A22/A30 sensing elements contain a saturated vapor/liquid refrigerant and are sensitive to barometric pressure changes; consult factory for correction factors. C12/C17 sensing elements contain a liquid fill with the majority concentrated in the bulb area for accurate temperature control in the desired sensing location. The bulb may be oriented in any position. It is unaffected by barometric pressure changes, but can be slightly affected by ambient temperature; consult factory for correction factors.

2UL File SA512/CSA File LR 32079; Confirm ratings with factory as they vary within control type.

3 SPST version is factory available by trimming off one terminal (#1 or #3).

4 A30 is available as a close on temperature rise switch only.

5 Constant cut-in application.

6 N.O. contact rating; N.C. contact rating is less.
