New Robertshaw® Programmable Thermostats for Light Commercial Buildings
Carol Stream, Illinois, USA - May
7, 2004 - Invensys Climate Controls today introduced a
new series of Robertshaw® programmable thermostats designed to meet the needs of light commercial building operators and the contractors who serve the light commercial market.
The new Robertshaw 9900i series
features integrated fresh air control that enables building operators to meet ASHRAE
indoor air quality standards for commercial buildings. Unlike other thermostats currently on
the market, the fresh air control feature can operate during an occupancy
cycle.
The
three new thermostats also include many of the award-winning features of the
original i-Series thermostats designed for residential applications including
bilingual display options, simple, menu-driven programming and the Energy Star® designation from the Environmental
Protection Agency.

9900i series brings all the convenience, comfort and energy savings of our
i-Series product line to the light commercial market – its contractors,
building operators and the people who work, shop and play in those buildings,”
says Tim Butler, Invensys’s Product Manager for thermostats. “Our fresh air control features are easy to
set and adjust to provide the optimal environment.”
Industry Award Winner
The 9900i series is built on the same dot matrix
technology platform that is used in all Robertshaw i-Series deluxe programmable
thermostats and is responsible for the award-winning ease of programming and
bilingual – English or Spanish – display flexibility. These thermostats feature menu-driven programming modeled on the interfaces for cell phones and automated
teller machines (ATM) that are familiar to consumers. The i-Series has been recognized by industry analysts Frost &
Sullivan with its 2003 Product Innovation Award in the thermostat market
segment.
Invensys
introduced the 9800i thermostats with humidity sensing earlier this year and
the original 9700i units in 2001.
Contractor ID Builds Loyalty
Contractors
benefit from the integrated contractor identification feature, available on all
i-Series models. By simply entering
their name and phone number into a special menu, HVAC contractors can stay
top-of-mind with building operators when the need arises to maintain or service
their HVAC system.
Thermostats
in the 9900i line are compatible with the 9025i remote outdoor and 9020i remote
indoor sensors for greater control of indoor comfort and system efficiency.
The 9900i series includes:
• Model
9901i – Compatible with all single-stage 24 VAC heating and cooling systems,
including single-stage heat pump systems
• Model 9915i – Compatible
with all standard 24 VAC heating and cooling systems, up to two-stage heat and
two-stage cool
• Model
9920i – Compatible with all standard 24 VAC heat pump systems, up to two-stage
heat and two-stage cool
