It's Fire Safety - Room by Room!
FIREX®  smoke alarms show customers the way...

DOWNERS GROVE, IL -- (October 1, 2002) -- October is Fire Safety Month, and everyone is getting fired up about home protection. The National Fire Protection Association recommends smoke alarms be installed in every room of your home. While that's true, some smoke alarms are better suited for specific areas of the home. FIREX® has created new room based packaging to help educate customers on what goes where!

Research shows that most customers want smoke alarms to protect their family. Features and technology are only important if they relate to added safety. So the question becomes, when do differences in sensing technology and features make a difference? FIREX® has the answers. The BEDROOMS & FAMILY ROOMS model has a combination photoelectric and ionization sensor. The sensors detect both smoldering AND fast flaming fires, giving homeowners the earliest warning. This is ideal for areas in which families spend the most time. The HALLWAYS & STAIRWAYS model has a built-in light to help illuminate key exit routes in the home. The KITCHENS model features a photoelectric sensor that is less prone to nuisance alarms from cooking and humidity. Each model comes with a quiet button, to temporarily silence nuisance alarms no matter where the alarm is installed.
